What We Are Up To

The Benches Are HERE!

On March 16th, 2010, our student government senate passed the Campus Improvement Bill which helped fund the construction of benches and shading near the FGCU bus loop. These improvements will give students the ability to rest while waiting for shuttles or a ride from a friend.

The plexus II benches that are being used have a virtually limitless lifespan, seeing as they are rust, chip, and fade resistant. In addition, they are LEED Certified which means that they are built sustainably which aids in better environment and health.

The funding from this campus improvement bill will also aid in the construction of a Cantilever shade structure covering five benches at the western edge of the Student Services Plaza as well as a large umbrella type structure at the eastern edge. The University Administration helped by covering the installation and labor costs associated with this project.

Did You Know
That over 400 of FGCU's 760 acres of campus are either conservation area or reclaimed natural area. Thats more than half of the campus!
